Leslie Lillian Jureit, 51, of Naples FL, died on Tuesday, February
5, 2008 after a long battle with breast cancer. Born May 23, 1956
in Miami, Leslie had been a Naples resident since 1985. Along with
Cindy Mueller, she owned and operated Center Stage Productions,
Inc. which provided a variety of entertainments for country club
and resort audiences throughout Southwest Florida. She was also
heavily involved in musical theatre education for Naples area
children through her companies, "Kids Center Stage" and
"Get-in-the-Act" programs. She had a lifetime
involvement in theatre, both professionally and with community
theatre groups, as performer, director and in many backstage and
producing capacities, with a special love and flare for costuming.
A love for animals was an important part of Leslie's life. She
rescued any animal she found in need and adopted many homeless
kitties. Leslie had served as adjunct professor for Barry
University and Edison Community College and was executive director
for Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida from 1987 to 1992. She
graduated from Killian High School in 1974, University of Richmond
in 1978 and the University of Houston with a Master's Degree in
Communication in 1984. Leslie was preceded in death by her
parents, William and Mary Hall Jureit. Leslie is survived by her
sister, April Major (Don) of Naples; two brothers, Bill Jureit of
Los Angeles, CA and Ross Jureit (Karen) of Greensboro, NC; her
niece, Laura Major Forest (Craig) of Boston, MA; and three
nephews, Max Major of Boston and William and Alex Jureit of
